I identify with this so much. I’m all for calling out abuse; if your church or your school or your non-profit is damaging people and covering it up we should investigate thoroughly and bring justice to those who deserve it. But there are hundreds of thousands of churches in the U.S. and I’d venture to say the vast majority of them are quietly and humbly serving their community and preaching the Gospel.

I want to hear from the critics for sure, but I also don’t want to miss the forest for the trees. I believe the local church is still one of the most powerful and confounding forces for good in the world. A community of humble people seeking the will of Jesus’ can literally change the world.
