I feel like a lot social media feels like “what side am I on?” We post in alignment with our side and we share people on our side and explicitly don’t share people that aren’t on our side; confirmation biases and all that.

I think it’s more interesting to find the area of agreement rather than move to our separate corners. I listen to both John Cooper and Phil Vischer (and the collective voice of the Holy Post podcast) and they’ve both appeared in the feed before. I'm a huge fan of @skilletmusic and the @holypostpodcast.

I think they make a great point here. I think it speaks to the frustration that we can find where we use the same word with totally different meanings. I think it speaks to life experience of people who see their friends fall away from the faith and friends strengthened in the faith described under the same banner. I think for me, it reinforces the approach that if someone says “I’m deconstructing” that I’d want to hear what they mean by that.

I think I’m more interested in hearing people with influence talk about this and finding the parts they agree on rather than split apart on the parts they disagree upon. Because the internet is *full* of the latter. It’s more work for sure, but it’s worth it.
