If you are not content today

“If you are not content today, there is nothing you can buy this weekend to change that.”
*Disclaimer* This whole post is about “buying stuff” not “buying food, paying rent, paying to get the car fixed, etc.”
Ok, in full disclosure I really enjoy Black Friday. I like getting out in the crowd, I love the sales, and I love the unofficial kick-off to the Christmas season. Or I guess it’s official? I don’t know if that’s an argument I want to start here… 😅
Having said that, Joshua makes a great point here that contentment doesn’t come from purchasing things. I’m the worst at this. I’ve always got something hanging around in my amazon cart that I don’t really need. I’m always eying the next iPad or iPhone. Once I buy one piece of camera gear it’s not long before I’m looking at the next. It’s a treadmill that never stops until I choose to hop off of it.
I don’t want to shame anybody into not participating in Black Friday, like I said, I’ll be out there! But I personally want to make sure to focus on the things that bring true contentment and not spend so much time on the treadmill of discontent.
